I went through a Doors phase my freshman year of high school. After that to this day I can't listen to them. Jim's midwit poetry is cringe and circus music is really outdated idk what I saw in them desu

In 1957, Morrison attended Alameda High School in Alameda, California for his freshman year and the first semester of his sophomore year.[29] In 1959, his family returned to Northern Virginia, where he graduated from George Washington High School, now a middle school in Alexandria, in June 1961.[28] While attending George Washington High School, Morrison maintained a grade average of 88 and tested in the top 0.1% with an IQ of 149.[30]

most opinions are conformative, really just depends on what you're conforming to, you don't get a monopoly on the word just because you like shit music.

Same for me. I went through a Doors, a Led Zep, a Clash phase when I was in high school and early 20s, but never felt the need to relisten.

Doors is kinda early youngster's misunderstood 'passionate' phase. After that, only women persist in listening to Doors.

But actually I think the only thing I'd relisten from them is LA Woman, which has a more mature no-fucks-given sound, not the poppy bossanova shit they did earlier on. Still I never really feel like I need to listen to dah Doors.

Alive, She Cried [Elektra, 1983]
This collection of unearthed concert tapes isn't without its virtues--Robby Krieger a white blues twister on "Little Red Rooster" and Jim Morrison remains an effective focus as long as he just sings. But when he deigns to read his poetry aloud or lays one of his narcissistic come-ons on some poor, unsuspecting teenager, it is to feel a sense of relief for kids too young to have experienced the fabled Jimbo charisma firsthand that there are no new rock stars.
