shit vs feces

i follow my instinct, i think by myself instead of giving a shit about the charts
>>129741353the real /mu/ patricians team
>>129741353Both are awful, but aoty managed to be worse.
>>129741353Aoty is unusable trash. Dogshit UI, useless charts (no countries, languages, multiple genres, anything before 1950, anything with less than 15 ratings). Filled with terminally online autistic (the bad kind) troons, nobody over the age of thirty. Much smaller database, half the shit I looked up wasn’t on there and if it was it had less than 5 ratings when on rym it had 100+. Every review is low effort slop or some retarded one-liner, not saying rym reviews are amazing but they at least tend to have some amount of substance.Rym isn’t perfect by any means but as long as you avoid the userbase it’s one of the most valuable tools for music discovery ever.
>>129741877>anything with less than 15 ratingsI went back and tried making a chart and that wasn’t the case. Maybe they got rid of it but I remember seeing text that said that
>>129741353Aoty is worse hands down. Rym you can ignore 99 percent of the base and just use the site to find music and the occasional good user, it's sort of like letterboxd in this regard. Aoty's base seems to be much younger on average with none of the boomers that have been rating Can albums since 2005 like on rym nor are there any of the avantfags that you can find good world music from sometimes, most of them are just fantano drones with the same taste of kendrick lamar, danny brown, swans, radiohead, mf doom, none of the actual characters and dare i say sovl of rym
Neither. If you waste your time on any of these worthless sites, you're poisoning your mind and your relationship with music.

>>129742665Why?
>>129741353Neither, I get all my music knowledge from boards.4chan.org/mu/ specially from the kpop threads in there, I have AIDS btw
>>129741353at least rym has descriptors which are interesting to filter by, but it's only usable if you always sort by esoteric
>>129741353i would say that one new japanese music rating site but someone showed the top charts off on xitter meaning half of the userbase is probably rym troon immigrants now
AOTY is letterboxd for music. Awful userbase, retards, unfunny people doing quips and teenagers overflowed with hormones, efervescence and fanatism. At least with RYM you can ignore current thing ratings and check on older stuff, and maybe somebody said something useful once.
RYM might be filled with autistic trannies but at least it's a useful website for cataloguing and discovering shit. AOTY is irony-poisoned normies with shit functionality. So RYM.
