Random thought of the day: Insane how all important Genesis members are still alive today
HOLY SHIT PETER GABRIEL WAS IN GENESIS? I haven't heard them but I assumed it was Phil Collins and random session musicians
>>129817994They were really young when they started. Most of the iconic prog musicians of the 70s were all in their mid to late 20s when they broke out and had been honing their chops in and out of bands since the early 60s. Genesis came right out of boarding school and were literally teenagers when they cut their first record, and even when Collins and Hackett came in they were in the same age range.
>>129818084Yeah but the odds all of them still got to reach mid 70s of age is still pretty small even though old Collins is at the death's door nowadays.

I just don't seem to be able to get into King Crimson or Yes without having at least some reservations. There's a 30 minute drum solo that's surprisingly not boring, and the guitar solo in MDK doesn't sound like it belong 1974.There's a lot of focus on guitar here that's very uncharacteristic of Magma.
