Beach House is a 7/10 at best. Their sound is too safe and doesn’t explore other genres at all. Their synths sound like DAW. Uchu Nippon Setagaya for example is better Dream Pop. And speaking of Beach Boys, one could also mention Steve Hiett

Yeah, they have one song they just do variations on, but sometimes it hits pretty hard. Fishmon is a completely different vibe and doesnt do the same at all. Youre doing the relatively normal fallacy of comparing records based on their genre (genres arent real) instead of the artistic content of the music.
