This album gets talked about a lot but even then I don't think it is ever fully appreciated just how insane it is to have an album featuring two fourths of The Clash, Mark E. Smith, and Lou Reed, the live shows from this era are fucking insane. Say what you want about the record itself, but this was definitely Gorillaz at their peak as a live band.

It's been long enough that I feel safe admitting I hate almost Gorillaz feature and only really like the basic, poppy Albarn (almost) solos. Rhinestone Eyes, Empire Ants, and Melancholy Hill are the only ones I like off Plastic Beach, for example.

Its the only reason I became a gorillaz fan..I revist it everynowandthen to hear the orchestration, and vivid soundscape
