I always said Eddie was the most mature of the grunge singers and him being the only one to not die practically confirms it, everyone else was either trapped in some infantile mindset (kurt), endlessly depressed and unfulfilled (Cornell), or still an addict plus the rest (Staley, the best). Eddie knew how to appreciate life and the world for what it is and at every turn kept it all together
It's awful to say but I kinda wish it had been him and not Cornell or especially Layne (Kurt dies in every timeline). I have an irrational hatred for Eddie Vedder. He feels like the most performative of not just the bunch but in general.
