Yacht rock bros...

>Dash Crofts, one half of the 1970s soft rock duo Seals & Crofts, known for hits including "Summer Breeze" and "Diamond Girl," died Wednesday at the age of 87. Jim Seals, the other half of Seals & Crofts, died in 2022.

>Crofts, born Darrell George Crofts, and Jim Seals began recording under the name Seals & Crofts in 1969, and released their self-titled debut album that year.

>Crofts and Seals had previously played with Los Angeles-based Latin rock band The Champs from 1958 to 1965, best-known for their 1958 hit 'Tequila.'

>The duo scored their breakthrough hit in 1972 with the album "Summer Breeze," which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album's title track became a top-10 hit, peaking at No. 6 on the singles chart, while the follow-up single "Hummingbird" reached No. 20.

>Seals & Crofts scored another top-10 album with their fifth studio release, 1973’s "Diamond Girl." The title track from that album also peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, as did “Get Closer,” the title track from their eighth studio album, released in 1976.

>Other hits included "We May Never Pass This Way Again," from "Diamond Girl," as well as "I'll Play for You," the title track of their 1975 album release.

Unborn Child [Warner Bros., 1974]
This may be catchy but I refuse to get caught; they may be good at what they do, but what they do is so disgusting that that only makes it worse. I would tell them to find their roots, but instead of regrouping as the Champs, they'd probably convince Warner Bros. to waste more vinyl on the Anita Kerr Singers. D-

Proof you can talk your way upwards in life if you cover your hipster bullshit in enough mumbo jumbo

The Champs were a band that a hit with "Tequila". Cuckgau references them because Seals and Crofts (and Glen Campbell) joined afterward briefly (then all 3 were in another band).
