Video game music is meant to loop so its at a pretty big disadvantage. It works fine as ambient
>>129802202vidya OSTs can be kinohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHXRMIwpW_Y
>>129802292And despite that disadvantage there's so many composers who manage to establish amazing atmospheres or write great melodies.
>>129802322>video game music does exactly what it's designed to doWow. Very insightful post. You wanna repeat the same thing rephrased again?
>>129802202Except for Maxis
>>129802370not the other anons and I don't give a fuck about this thread, but your reading comprehension is embarrassing but you probably knew this
>>129802202not on topic but god Ludvig Goransson is overrated as fuck
video game music isn't a genre it's an even looser term than rock or classical so yeah some of it is good some of it is bad you would come to this conclusion if you had anything above average intelligence which none of /mu/ or reddit does (they are the same thing this place is basically reddit)
>>129802202I wouldn't say it's bad on principle but yeah in general I agree with you that most of it is forgettable and people who only listen to videogame music tend to overrate it since that's all they know. I played Northern Journey recently though that that had a really good soundtrack for a videogame, very atmospherichttps://youtu.be/q6Cr70QpjqM
