I hate Pink Floyd so much it's unreal. Shitty drums, mediocre guitar, shitty singing, boring composition. Boomers actually think this is the peak of musical achievement jfl.

If the Beatles were actually cool they’d be Pink Floyd.

They mog gay floyd
>>
>>129806489
Replace "pink" with "George" and ask yourself if you feel that's really appropriate to say.
>>
>>129806796
Why?
>>
>>129806489
and yet they will be remembered in another 50 years and you will be forgotten entirely

Justin Bieber actually has some bangers thougheverbeit (although some might attribute that to the producer)

It's a good indicator, especially since anything else would just be subjective
>>
>>129807235
But there is music that is popular in certain circles that never maintains mainstream popularity. Does that automatically make it worse?
>>
>>129807245
It makes it niche.
>>
>>129806489
weak bait but GOAT album so I'll allow it
>>
Pink Floyd were the Radiohead of the seventies.
>>
>>129806489
I like everything they did before that, that stuff was just chill gloomy hippie music. This was where Roger's influence started to take them down a fart huffy path
>>
>>129806489
I'm with you on this. Finish your drink whenever Nick Mason does that shitty 5-note drum fill.
>>
>>129806489
Disagree but I do think Pink Floyd after Obscured by Clouds is overrated as fuck.
>>
>>129806489
You are very unique and daring and special and brave for having such a pointless edgy opinion, OP, and the world will forever remember you as the coolest kid in the playground
>>
>>129806489
He’s right. And all the boomers seething in this thread is further proof, Pink Floyd sucks
>>
>>129806489
I absolutely love psych music and drugs but Pink Floyd never really landed much for me. I dug them a bit when I first started learning guitar and classic rock was a good entry way to finding riffs to learn, but idk their shit just doesn't do that much for me. I don't find most of it to actually be very psychedelic, it's a little trippy but just accessible enough to become a huge hit so it's become everybody's dad's example of trippy music
Echoes is a good song though, "on the run" too, and obviously piper at the gates of dawn is solid. Syd's solo shit is good too
>>
>>129807235
Bach wasn't very popular in his time
>>
>>129806489
You didn't posted the fixed cover of this tranny album.
>>129807955
This.

I just find them really boring nowadays. It felt deep and enlightening when I was younger, now I just can't look past the slightly above average musicianship and their political messaging doesn't really speak to me anymore. Their production is objectively top tier, especially for the time, but I don't really listen to music for that.

You're just a Jew.
>>
>>129806489
I like them but I do not know for the life of me why they are grouped in with prog rock. They have no common threads with anything else the British hipster scene was doing at the time.
>>

Their early stuff sits in a middle ground between psychedelic rock and that early English prog sound, protocanterbury maybe. Certainly nothing like the other end of prog, all virtuosity and classical influence and all that. But they very quickly moved into highly polished, slightly theatrical stadium rock thats neither psychedelic nor progressive imo.
My overall opinion is that they were very good at what they did but massively overhyped. The only PF album I can really enjoy is Saucerful of Secrets.
