People will dismiss this record but suck off Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, etc. Now that’s wimpy rock for the most part. Also this album just turned 30 the other day. It’s the best record they’ve put out. Purple is a close second. Core suffers from being kind of basic compared to their later stuff. A lot of the songs drag on a minute too long on that as well.

Wimpy is a lame way to try to review music. I guess the opposite would be something more masculine with a bit more testosterone to it but that makes you sound like a faggot. Like your main complaint isn't that the music sounds bad but rather you are just disappointed that you can't get off imagining the band gangraping you.

oh ffs, "wimpy" means that there's no passion, no energy. It's not an entirely invalid criticism of the album, although I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand like Schreiber. It's definitely not their best, but it is great, certainly better than anything they did after. Depending on my mood, Core or Purple will be my number 1 on their list.
