I've been listening to a couple of the stones albums and they fucking suckThey will strike gold once in a while and make a really good song such as gimme shelter, she's a rainbow, angie, miss you, etc, but the rest of the album is the most generic rock riffs and low effort songwriting ever. Their entire shtick is "WE'RE NOT THE BEATLES!! WE SAY THE FUCK WORD AND SING ABOUT SEX!!!"So overrated

The Stones are first and foremost a Blues band; their best albums are the early 60s ones and Blue and Lonesome, whose only problem is being too short, it should have been a 3 hour reportoire of all the Blues songs they could remember of. The rest of their discography is like OP said, although I must confess I have a certain fondness for Bridges to Babylon (Keith's peak)

A harmonious chemistry where they didn't even have to try. The kinks were what the Stones probably wanted to be. But they did it while being unapologetically genuine. Albeit not the best songwriters but their grittyness is believable for their time period. They don't come off as trust fund kids like the Stones
