I'm slowly building a kit with free stuff. I lack a snare, snare stand, and throne. Once I have those I'll set them up in the garage. I'm mainly interested in playing a 3 piece but I might just start with hat/kick/snare to git gud first.

Mines a Roland TD07, It's got some solid sounds on it and the dynamics aren't complete shit like a lot of other cheap kits that will just completely ruin the experience. I would still take acoustic drums over it any day of the week but it's pretty good for practice if you can't make shit loads of noise.

With a single pedal and the snare off to the left it wasn't so bad, but gets tricky when the snare has to fit in the middle. I imagine I'd have a lot of trouble with it to the side once I start improving though, want to work up to some early Slipknot stuff and I can't imagine the blast beats are going to work very well that way. You can pick them up quite cheap on Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, etc. Cymbals are something that are hard to get cheap unless you know what you are doing. If you spend the time to learn about them you can find great deals on great cymbals.
