I like music.
>>
>>129817024
I don't think David Bowie has made one genuinely great album start to finish. All his albums are filler and he is judged solely by his hits, and I think it is completely unfair that he has a great reputation while Queen, for example, are treated like shit when they are in the same situation.
>>
>>129817073
Based. I think Ziggy Stardust is overrated as shit
>>
>>129817024
I think classical music diehards only listen to it instead of "modern" stuff because they like feeling smarter than everybody else, not out of genuine enjoyment or preference
>>
>>129817024
My music taste is basically the opposite of /mu/'s, I don't know why I bother coming here

>Pretty much only listen to music from 1950-1975
>Love rock 'n' roll, blues, country, and associated "roots music" styles
>Don't like metal, prog, rap, or electronic music of any kind

As a result I shitpost more than I really want to because I have no connection to the music being discussed here most of the time
>>
i listen to the same few songs every day for months until i get bored of them and never want to hear them again
>>
>>129817510
This is exactly why I'm afraid to overplay my favourite songs
>>
>>129817024
I like the Beatles
>>
>>129817593
I like the Beatles too... but like the Stones even more
>>
>>129817024
I post on /mu/, the worst board on 4chan.

Which era of the stones?
>>
>>129817658
Mainly the Beggars/Bleed/Fingers/Exile run, not very controversial
>>
>>129817024
I wont listen to any Bob Dylan. Too Jewish.
>>
>>129817651
Me too. I also genuinely enjoy her music.
>>
>>129817679
I like Between The Buttons
>>
>>129817024
Two of the pictures boybandfag uses for his "beatles poster headspace" picture are mine
>>
>>129817728
That's actually my least favourite of their 60's albums, the whole baroque pop thing just isn't to my taste

>>129817683
Conversely, Dylan is pretty much the only Jewish artist I can't bring myself to part with

I cope by reminding myself he's a Christian now
>>
>>129817578
it forces me to find more good stuff so i allow myself to do it

too many people here don't even try listening to popular music earlier than the 60s
ironically its the only music i listen to
>>
>>129817864
As mentioned in >>129817465 I love 50's rock, country, and blues, but I can hardly stomach Sinatra-type trad pop
>>
>>129817024
I think that the Beatles' albums go downhill after Rubber Soul. Too much drugs made them go stupid, whereas Rubber Soul, Help, and A Hard Day's Night are amazing albums that feature their best work.
>>
>>129817966
Holy based. Help!, Please Please Me, and With the Beatles are my top three and I'll stand by that until I die. I don't give a shit about the white album or Magical Mystery Tour.
>>
>>129817996
Thank you for saying that. I thought I was going insane by the amount of people who say the exact opposite.

You're exactly right, those early albums are so much better than their post-'66 work.

I think it's okay to be white and that makes /mu/ really seethe so much.
>>
>>129817966
I largely agree, the later albums had some incredible material but also tons of shit

Rubber Soul was their last album with no must-skip songs
>>
I still come here a decade after disinformation bots made it a useless website that only exists to drain budgets for web hosting
>>
I hate Kendrick Lamar's music and I think it's for niggers or something. TPAB is the most nigger album, I reckon
>>
>>129817073
Station To Station is right there anon
>>
>>129818137
Daring today, aren't we?
>>
>>129818107
Of course, they still did some good stuff, but Rubber Soul was their last perfect album with no must-skip songs, like you pointed out.

So whenever I hear the Rubber Soul vs Revolver debates (and they're pretty frequent online), I just roll my eyes. How on earth can anybody say that Revolver is as cohesive as Rubber Soul? Or any album post-'66?

A part of me thinks the amount of music I listen to provides me more weight in any discussion of music.
>>
>>129818039
It's sappy, but the reason I like Please Please Me and With the Beatles (and, by extension, AHDN) so much is because they're still a group of friends excited by fame, traveling the world, making music together, and exploring new things. They're not fighting constantly, being petty about album real estate and who gets the right to write songs, and just generally flinging shit at one another. It feels very sweet to me, and I can enjoy those albums a lot more knowing that they genuinely loved one another and loved what they did, unlike the later years where John and Paul patronize George, George and John hound Paul for making lame granny shit, Paul and George hound on John for making avant-garde crap, and Ringo gets caught in the crossfire and downplayed in his own right.
That, and the fact that I just like merseybeat and early 60s rock more than late 60s MY HECKING DRUGS hippieslop. All My Loving mogs I am the Walrus and shit

Christine Perfect's album before Fleetwood is so good. My biggest surprise of the last year.
>>
>>129817996
>>129818039
I got 3 children, all under 10. They dgaf about the later stuff but they get hyped to picrel. Or to switch things up the Twist and Should album from '64.
>>
>>129817024
I always bait saying that shitty albums are good and that good albums are shit
>>
>>129818205
I bet you'd like a lot of other Blue Horizon albums as well

I suggest Chicken Shack (who included Christine), Bacon Fat, and Jellybread
>>
I haven't been to a concert in 6 years.
>>

last show I saw live was a local cover band, does that count?

I think Eminem was pretty solid right up until the 2020s

Right on brother. Fom now on I'll keep my eyes open for that label when I'm digging.

I'll listen to music I wouldn't be caught dead listening to as a teenager because It reminds me of better times.
I blame replaying games like Burnout and NFS for making me nostalgic for this shit.

According to my friend my music taste is off putting to women
I mostly listen to 70s and 80s pop
>>
>>129821701
What the hell does he listen to if he thinks that's the case? My exact taste is 60-80s pop and rock.
