they need to drown out the crowd and the reverberation of the roomthe size and quality of the sound system play a part too. In top class clubs you can feel the pressure in your legs but you can also talk to someone on the floor without yelling in their ear

I bought mine 10 years ago, was absolutely worth it. Comfy and the sound is good. And, most importantly, my ears live to fight another day.
