Why do popular music singers age so badly compared to classical singers?https://youtu.be/rxxHvW0oNpUPavarotti was 71 for this performance. 71. Yes, it wasn't actually live, but it was an unprocessed take. Compare that to literally any rock singer. I saw Iron Maiden a few years ago and while the guitars were great, Bruce's voice is pretty much shot and he's not even 70.
>>129828047Because Pavaroti is literally the best male singer in the world, the comparison is kinda unfair lol but yeah most pop singers age bad, they get too comfortable maybe and stop practicing or waste their voices too much. Not as badly as Screamo singers though. Growling too much destroys your voice even tho thats cool in its niche.
>>129828105Why is it unfair? Bruce Dickinson is/was one of the best metal singers.
>>129828047classically trained singer vs just some guys
>>129828504Why don't the "just some guys" go study with opera singers to improve their voice?
>>129828047Pavarotti was literally one of if not the greatest singers to ever live
>>129828509I absolutely agree. But the reason is because Rock / Metal is a lower genre than Opera or Classical artistically and skill wise. Thats why very few Musicians in rock take classes, its laziness. They are there for the scene and the coochie and the money. Now that labels have abandoned Rock I highly recommend Rockers to get their shit together and study at a Conservatiruim of Music. Better late than never.Gettin Gud is all that matters.
>>129828509because singing ability in rock, pop, metal, etc. is meaningless. you only need to be "good enough" to be successful. in many genres you don't even need to be good
>>129828509Many do, but that still takes a lifetime of work.Elvis did after he came from the military. He went from rockabilly to this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3Bj9fQkvGo
>>129828530Artistically, I agree. At least as it stands now. Skillwise? Definitely not technical skill, you should watch some of these metal guitarists or drummers. Musical skill as a whole yeah, probably.>I highly recommend Rockers to get their shit together and study at a Conservatiruim of MusicAnd play Beethoven all day? That's the dilemma. Popular musicians at least make new music, even if it's not as good as classical was.
>>129828531Not just for the love of the game?
>>129828537I don't think of Elvis as having this much vibrato lol
>>129828105>>129828047I remember sitting on a beanbag at my nans house watching pavarotti. I was probably 5-7, fucking love that nessun dormahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWc7vYjgnTs&list=RDcWc7vYjgnTs&start_radio=1
>>129828595He always had it before, but he accentuated it a lot more around this time.
Dio might be the one exception. He sounded better at 66 playing with the Sabbath guys than he did with Rainbow in the '70s. Voice was a bit rough around the edges but he sounds like he was just yelling with Rainbow lolhttps://youtu.be/wwrZXodTX4chttps://youtu.be/7ssSiw-yAuw
