I never really understood why BB or Chevelle or Guano Apes get a pass from critics or RYMfags but e.g. Three Days Grace or Skillet get dunked on. In my mind they're really all the same. Either you are willing to take butt-rock/nu-metal seriously, or not.

Its interesting how central addiction/substance abuse was to the topics of that genre. They sure did write a bunch of love/breakup songs and I'm sure these made them a hit with teenage girls, but it's almost like every one of these people was a meth head or an alcoholic if you read the lyrics.
