a total robbery
>>129833737Music sounds bad, ear damage, costs 200$ ITS OVER!
>>129833737too expensive
>>129833737Anyone who buys tickets from Live Nation after they admitted they were ripping everyone off is a moron.
The more I've paid the shittier both the experience and the music itself was.
>>129833737live nation and ticketmaster are evil corporations and must be destroyed in order to save music
>Concert I was interested in next month>Check price>OK, but I'm waiting anyway>Check again 3 weeks ago>+50% wut>Check again on Saturday>Same price as it was initially>MFWPlease fuck off with your shitcoin antics.
they only charge what people are willing to pay
>>129834684>leveraging the love you have for an artist and their music for maximum profitsthey are pure evil and they must be exterminated
>>129833737Rid yourself of FOMO and your experience will improve a lot. FOMO causes people to overpay
>>129833737Its been a while I've been to a concert. I regret not going to a Front Line Assembly concert late last year.
shout out to all the artists who currently offer free concerts or very low priced tickets to their concerts
i'm just happy everyone close to kurt continue to not charge insane prices for their concerts
if you want to see some popular slop merchant, you deserve to be fleeced.
>>129833737Why pay egregious prices for people who just play their own music in the background and lip sync?
>>129835667this. i don't think i've ever had to pay more than about $40 for a concert ticket. no sympathy for people complaining their harry styles tickets are $200
>>129833737>tickets themselves are like $80>$100 in taxes>extra $100 in "service fees"
>>129833737Nobody buys music anymore so this is how they make up for it. Don't blame them for charging a lot.
never been
>>129836468Live nation, ticketmaster and scalpers are the ones who benefit the most
>>129834815no one offers free concerts
I'll probably never see a concert again because all my favs are too old and I have 0 interest in seeing any newer acts.
>local small independent venues>still $15-25, still a great experience>large local venue acquired by private equity>went from $20-30 pre-covid to 50-70>beer now $20 a can>ticketmaster venues>don't even botherI never used to buy merch but if it's a band I like at a small venue, I usually try to buy a t-shirt now
>>129837838ngk does a yearly free concert with a capacity of 30-50k people in the downtown area of his hometown. brings in about 15 million dollars into the local economy and he loses a few hundred thousand out of his own pocket setting everything up
>>129833737kurt cobain had serious problems with his mother, those mommy issues reflected so much in his choice of partners, it's insane that any reasonable men with a fortune like his, with the prospects of even further financial gain from future succesful albums and world tours, would have accepted a woman like courtney love into his life, let alone marry her, it's so illogical that it borders insanity. The only explanation for this are cobain's unsolved mommy issues and his stupid views that all women were queens and goddess, etc. His mother hated him, she was a manipulative worthless mother, he just failed miserably to see that, all the women he met in his life probably treated him like garbage, yet he still defended them when he got famous. And that was his downfall.
>>129838622He hated his mom, hence the lyrics>my mother died every nightHe was an insecure guy, this type often goes for outgoing women because he doesn't feel there's pressure on him to prove himself as a guy or provide a sense of security to her
Anything over $75 (for non-festivals), no matter what the show is, is a huge fucking ripoff. The vast majority of any shows I've ever gone to were $30 or less.
>>129833737Outrageous. Festivals even more.
>going to concertsshiggy-diggy
>WOOOOOAAAAH LOOK AT ME!! CONCERT COST... THAT MUCH!!!??? AIN'T I RELATABLE GUYS!!!?Kurt was a poser I'm glad Courtney blew his brains out. what a faggot
>>129839061listening to Oasis would have done wonders for his self-steem and would have cured his insecurities. He surrounded himself with a bunch of douchebags all the time, like the Sonic Youth bunch and what not. Yeah, it's a shame and a lesson for us all. I still think he dated the worst women he could find, and failed to see that women can be equally pieces of shit as men can.
[laughs in European consumer protection laws]
>>129833737What would be his thoughts on GPS?
>>129834815There’s a lot of punk bands I like that keep the ticket prices down but all the theaters or other mid sized venues force you to get the tickets through Ticketmaster. Still getting fucked on nonsense fees, I wish more venues would just put in the work to have their own fucking purchasing system and cut out the middle man.
>>129838622>>129839061>>129843039You guys have the problems, man.
We need a new concert experience where no one makes money and the musician only does it for the love of the game.
>>129847036start a band
>>129847129I'm not skilled at anything.
>>129834709Big concerts are basically the only way artists have left to make good money, and high production value tours are very expensive to put onLive Nation/ticketmaster and TEG/ticketek need to be destroyed and all their executives gassed for fucking up the whole industry and essentially stealing from artists and fans but I don't think tickets to big shows are too expensive. Also "VIP packages" are gay
>>129844090All those venues are either owned by live nation or are basically forced to use ticketmaster because if they don't they won't get booked for any live nation tours. It's a monopolist protection racket
>>129833737Floyd in 94 was $35 a pop, which in today's dollars is about $72.These days $72 almost covers parking.
>>129833737supply and demand. The demand support $1000 a ticket, and there are enough people willing to pay that to make everyone rich (except the audience). It's too much for me, but I don't think ticket prices are "too high", it's a business. And if the artists don't charge that then the resellers will. Supply and demand. Econ 101; there's no way around it.
>>129847507its a "business" where a parasitic corporate middle man who effectively own a monopoly on live events leeches the lions share of the profit for themselves.

If you have good taste it shouldn't be an issue
>>129833737Eddie Vedder's a faggot, but he was right. Ticketmaster are the devil.
>>129847547if they don't like it they don't have to tour. And if you don't like it you don't have to go and see them. This is pure, unadulterated capitalism. The very thing that the GOP / MAGA trash have been salivating about and gunning for since FDR, if not before. Because remember, any attempt to disrupt a monopoly is "reeeee left woke trannie commies who don't want anyone to have any property!!!!"So I'm 100% in favor of the dreaded woke libs and Dems being completely hands-off the entertainment industry, so we can all see clearly what happens when we say "oooo the gubment is bad it should be small and DOGE should cut any agency that would get in the way of capitalism!"Because let's face it, nobody ever died because they couldn't see a Taylor Swift concert. So this is the perfect proving ground. And if you don't like it, then think about how great virtually unrestricted free-market capitalism is for shit like health care and housing. So yeah, in short, leave dicketmaster, LIve Nation and the entire concert industry alone. Let them charge what they want, make any deals they want. And watch carefully.
>>129848572Stubhub sucks balls too. Never got my money back after paying for a ticket that didn't show up on my account
>>129848611I'm literally going to carefully watch them get carbombed in Minecraft
>>129833737I regularly go to concerts that are $10-25. Just look into local bands.
It makes me sad that some artists fall for the "I'm going to charge artificially low prices for concert tickets so real fans can go" meme. There are a million opprotunities for music industry leeches make money off artists. Marketers, agents, execs, etc etc. They all take their cut from the artist's sales; little is left over for the artists. And yet none of those people are ever pressured to take a smaller cut "for the fans." Then finally the artist goes on tour, where they actually retain a decent amount of the returns -- but if the artist charges the market price they "don't care about the fans."But the artist wants "real fans to be able to afford concert tickets." So, they sell tickets below market price. Now bots and scalpers come in and take advantage of the situation. The market-clearing price of any good is what supply and demand dictate. So if an artist sets the price lower, the only thing that changes is who gets the money: them or a scalper. I'd rather the artist get it.
>>129833737No active bands that I want to see will ever tour again. I’m glad retards with shit music tastes are getting milked out of their money.
>>129833737death to ticketmaster and venues that lean on it
>>129847177Call it curtains, then.
>>129847177Play punk until you git gud>capchaI’m doing abysmal with this weeb shit, only one I’ve gotten without google is Ein
>>129833737Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it.
