Why is Rush performing? I'm tired of seeing 75 year old rock musicians trot themselves out and give subpar performances. Geddy Lee's voice will never be what it was. Franco Corelli retired at 55, on top of the world, so as not to become a pathetic shadow of his former self. I wish boomer musicians would have that maturity and humility. By all means older artists should continue composing, perhaps recording in the studio, but if they can't present a great musical product, I don't want to see them try.
>Sadder still to watch it die
>Than never to have known it
>For you, the blind who once could see
>The bell tolls for thee
Neil Peart summed it up himself.

Who is this concert even for? Peart is dead, so are half their fans. Geddy Lee can't even sing and sounds like he's basically deaf.

Unless this tour is Alex Lifeson getting to do every guitar solo he ever wanted to do live and then wrap it up with YYZ for the five living boomers left then what's even the point?

Haha, wow.

Well, Geddy Lee sounds better than he has in a while, still pretty busted. Anika's kit was super cute. I like the choice of LP elements like piccolo toms and timbales over Peart's high toms. I did almost the exact same thing for the exact same reason. Also switching to that big brass latin snare thing on the middle 8, pretty out there. She's fearless, but she underestimated the power she needs.

Contrary to popular belief, Neil Peart smacked the ever loving shit out of his drums, extremely hard hitter. She's not used to it, this despite her triplets and big fills sounding tighter than any time Peart ever busted them out (a little too tight, sorta lacks personality)

You shouldn't tour if all you can salvage is guitar and bass but that hasn't stopped literally everybody.
If they're going to do this, hopefully they stick with some later range material. I remember having it pointed out to me once that Tom Sawyer was a transition period between modes; The "exit the warrior" is his older jerky very high style while the "the world is, the world is" is his later more even technique.

They should be legally barred from Finding My Way on this tour, now let's hear Mystic Rhythms.
