You still need other gear to utilize this. You need a speaker cab to produce the sound. And of course the instruments and accessories are still selling, regardless of what they're plugged into.

I don't personally use Quad, but I have digital multi-fx pedals that I run into a full range, flat response speaker. I never want to go back to amps again.
