I don't think I could have done much of anything, his fight was beyond my capability to help him (he was diagnosed with ALS). I wish ailments and disease were physical entities, so I could vanquish them myself.

Too kitsch, probably. But you're right, they were a great metal band. Fighting the World remains a metal classic, and their lyrics were really no different than Maiden in their heyday of the early 80s.

I remember reading on blabbermouth years ago, when I would still read that site, that a former member of Manowar got busted for CP. that's all I have to contribute to this thread

Blackwind, Fire, and Steel is a great song though.
also Hand of Doom is a banger

but Virgin Steele is the superior band

my goodness I'm glad this era of metal died. It's so cringe and for manchildren. The lyrics are not very deep either, it's generic "depth" "omg great warrior (You) dont give up because we got souls of fire and wills of steel". It's just some autist larping as his custom Dark Souls or Elden Ring character.
