I think we need to have a serious conversation about the normalized use of Live AR in K-pop.I completely understand that K-pop choreography has become incredibly intense. I don't expect idols to sound perfect while doing aerobics. However, the deception needs to stop.Here is my hierarchy of what should be acceptable:1.MR (Raw Live): The gold standard. Just the instrumental and background harmonies. Zero lead vocals on the track. If the idol stops singing, the audio cuts out.2. Live MR (Backing Track Support): If you can't do full raw MR, then at least do this. The track includes some vocals for support, but your mic is ON and louder than the track. It’s a fair compromise for hard choreography, as long as we can actually hear your real voice overpowering the recording.3.Standard AR (Obvious Lip Sync): If you are sick, exhausted, or the schedule is too crazy to sing at all then just play the AR audio. Be honest about it.
