How do you know that you're ngmi with learning an instrument? I'm just picking up learning electric guitar after inheriting a cheapo set and when it's time to learn and practice I always have to force myself to start (I've only done the first 2 modules on Justinguitar.com in about 3 weeks of owning the guitar) . I really really really wanna become good tho!

I spent 12 years of my life playing the clarinet only to figure out that I had been playing it wrong. Apparently there's a technique you use called tonguing. I tried it and realized I don't even know how to play the instrument.

I never enjoyed it, I always had to force myself to practice, and after three years I still couldn't play anything more complicated than koombaya. I also couldn't find anyone who wanted to play with me. Even if you can learn the instrument, don't you want to play in a band with other people? I would say keep it up for a year or two. If it still sucks, at least you can say you tried at that point.
