I just heard Always on My Mind by Pet Shop Boys and without hyperbole, it might just be the greatest and most beautiful song ever recorded
So my question is what else should I listen to to get into more fun, upbeat and happy synthpop?

Nah. It's a cover song and it doesn't work as an up-beat pop song. The instrumentals are amazing but overall it doesn't work for me.

The Elvis version is better

stfu.
who do you think you are?
it obviously works, this is a major pop group and this song is one their biggest hits.

if you don't like it, tell us that.
saying "it doesn't work" makes you sound ridiculous. if it didn't work, no one would like it.

I meant to say it works better as a slower ballady song rather than an upbeat one. I heard it for the first time a while ago and the intro and synth hook was amazing to me, but it fell flat once the vocals came in. That's what I meant by it doesn't work. It's a good song but not "arranged or composed" as good as it could be.
