Is this still the greatest debut album of all time?
this is just a more incendiary way to make a "good debut albums" thread
>>129860966not saying it is better but it is a possible contender
nigga>Pink Floyd>Type 0 Negative >The Velvet Underground>Television>Jimi Hendrix>Joy Division>Sex Pistols>The Doorsthe debut is often the best album for a band
>>129861452>>Pink FloydLol, no.
>>129861518>filtered by Piper in 2026
>>129861452I don’t even like rap, yet I think College Dropout easily clears any of those, wrong picks.
>>129861712I respect your opinion even if it's wrong
>>129860986Amazing pick, utterly mogs and clears everything in here : >>129861452
>>129860966
>>129861980teenager music that had already been completely explored and sublimated in a more mature form by Deftones (White Pony came out the same year btw)
>>1298620211) All music was teenage music one day, from the Doors/Pink Floyd to Black Sabbath, it was teens, not old geezers, who listened to that stuff. 2) Hybrid Theory sounds nothing like Deftones, or White Pony, and is in fact WAY better than either, Deftones is overrated, LP is getting a well-deserved critical re-evaluation now.
>>129860966Not even top 5,000. Also, not music
>>129860966Need I say more?
>>129862234>All music was teenage music one day, from the Doors/Pink Floyd to Black Sabbath, it was teens, not old geezers, who listened to that stuffthat's not what I mean as teenager music but rather the fact that their sound and themes are inherently immanent to teenage angst doors, pink floyd and black sabbath easily trascend those theme and can be enjoyed by people that didn't grow up in the early 2000s>Hybrid Theory sounds nothing like Deftonesyes that's the point, Deftones already trascended what was previously done by bands like Korn, Linkin Park didn't aside from adding some electronic flair to their composition>Deftones is overrateduseless buzzword and irrelevant to the conversation
*mogs your favorite album*
>>129862315>immanent to teenage angst, doors, pink floyd and black sabbath easily trascend those theme and can be enjoyed by people that didn't grow up in the early 2000s You're an ESL idiot, high on your own farts. 1) "transcend" on what grounds can you claim LP lyrics don't "transcend" ?, your dumb opinion ? not enough. "grew up in the early 2000s" dude, I know you're a shit-for-brains, but are you so dumb and out of touch, that you didn't notice LP is very popular with zoomers ? again you're full of shit and have no idea what you're talking about.
>>129862409ancient tpab
>>129861518Piper is better than every post-Meddle album.
>>129862514>wowowow look I'm a contraríaneat shit
>>129862461Tribe called quest is ancient tpab
>>129862447I accept your concession
>>129862018He's been coasting off this for 30 years too
>>129862605That you're a retard full of shit ?. . . thanks ?, I guess.
>>129862712lmao, typical /mu/ user who can’t form a single coherent thought beyond buzzwords on top of buzzwords
>>129862739>transcended, teenager angst, sublimated >muh buzzwords Kek, you're a clown with zero self-awareness, you're not coming off as "well read" just a pretentious idiot who's full of shit and likes the smell of own your farts.
>>129860966pearl jam
>>129860966there is another almost identical thread on the board right now>>129862157
why do people act like graduation is some GOAT album?am I just missing something?
>>129861518Syd Barrett was the most talented member of the band and Terrapin is a better song than anything on Ummagumma, More, Atom Heart Mother or Obscured by Clouds.
>>129862801lmao you're so maddeftones blended nu-metal with new sounds and genres and their songwriting goes beyond the>intro with some noise>angry riff>rapping >chorus where Chester screams with loud guitars>repeatthat Linkin Park do on almost every single one of their song. Linkin Park sound like the stereotype of nu-metal, one that was already overdone by that point. Also every normal human being associates CRAAAAAAAAWLING IN MY SKIIIIIIIIN with teenage angst
>>129862621oi oi oi
>>129862898stadium status tracks like good morning, stronger, cant tell me nothing,I wonder, flashing lights + his most pop accessible album
>>129862898>>129863001GOAT album, probably not but I think it's his best. For me it was the most creative out of his first three albums and the big stadium sounding production still sounds great, and gives good nostalgic vibes. MBDTF might be better produced but I appreciate the lack of pretentiousness on Graduation. It has the most songs I go back to as well (everything besides Drunk and Hot Girls, Big Brother, Good Night)
>>129860966>album SO good, it ruined the artist's career because the bar was TOO high.
I might be wrong
