What's the difference between consuming music because you enjoy it and consuming music just to consume it?
>>129861185Consuming music is rarely done for its own sake. If they're collectors, they do it for completion. Doubly so if they're fans of the artists' other works. If they're trying to fit in with a prestigious circle, they'll consume music to be included with a potentially influential network. And then, there are those who consume music because they have a genuine investment in their own taste and wish to refine it while critiquing the works of others in relation to the artists' peers as well as the consumers' established palates.
>>129861185Consuming music because you enjoy it means listening to something new or familiar is its own reward. Anything outside that usually means listening has become an empty exercise in completionism, status signaling or attempts at satiating a hunger for novelty.
>>129861185the retard in picrel only listens to music which confirms his worldview, not a music fan
>>129861973>I don't find challenging myself and growing by broadening my horizons and exploring new music to be worthwhile. So therefore I assume everyone else is just engaging in shallow completionism, status signaleeeeeeen or blah derpity derpity blahyou're telling on yo'self
>>129861185>consumingI hate this fucking word. You do not consume an album, you LISTEN to it. You do not consume a movie, you WATCH it. You do not consume a book, you READ it.
There is nothing more plebeian than listening to music for pleasure.
