Why stop at 7?8 string baritone is where it's at.
Among the 1% would have been Bucky Pizzarelli, one of the first 7-string players back in the late 60s. He played NY jazz, and used the 7 for its sonic and tonal verstility, not for down tuning chug-chug rubbish.

i dont even think thats an unpopular opinion, perhaps its a pseud opinion but I pretty much share it, think I'd sooner try out a 12 string but really when you're playing with a bass why even worry about getting that 7th string? you already have that end covered, imagine your band having a 7string guitar and 5 string bass
