talk me down /mu/. listened back to the final-ish mixes of my album. it's not that i hate it, but i feel like i could do so much better. it was made with full intent to fit within a certain aesthetic/niche, but now that i'm forced to release it, i feel like i could have done things more tastefully...real talk, am i a piece of shit?
>>129863121What kind of music
>>1298631512008-era myspace crabcoreconcept album about dying and going to purgatory, but purgatory is a nightclub

Works of art are never completed, only abandoned. Those feelings are normal.
>>129863213Here's the title track. it's called Handicap Handjobhttps://vocaroo.com/15tCgpdJIlpi
>>129863231how do i make the feeling go away? just bite my tongue and release the fuckin album as is?
>>129863121Dont sweat the small stuff. Your music wont do a fucking thing.
>>129863445yes.
>>129863121patch it later
>>129863470yeah i know that, but i still want it to be the best music i can make at this moment in time. it's more about being honest
>>129863487nah, once i release something, it's done. in 20 years, if i still have the files and i feel that strongly about it, i'll do a remaster
>>129863213y-you too :(
>>129863251God forbid somebody try something new
>>129864429MMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... BADASS BABY
my buddies just did this with their Daughters inspired rock trio, part that pisses me off is they wont even show it to me and I liked the music (they also didn't even let me audition despite being a flexible fan of the genre and a huge practicer of several instruments, needless to say the frontman hates me after we had a band years ago)
>>129864626Rape them and force them to show you the songs
>>129863121Take a break for a bit. After you can refresh, listen to it again and see what you think.
>>129865681i'm just worried i'll come back to it and hate it even MORE
>>129866261No point worrying about that. You’ll either like it or not, that’s when you can choose what to do. In my experience with making art, it has always been beneficial to step away for a spell and come back with fresh eyes/ears. Even if you don’t like it you’ll likely be more okay with that than you are now.
>>129866411Yeah, you're probably right. you're so wise.
>>129863121>listened back to the final-ish mixes of my album. it's not that i hate it, but i feel like i could do so much better.Eh, that's every muaician desu
>>129863121release it. It will never be perfect to your ear. Never, ever. So release it and start working on your next record.
>>129863231>Works of art are never completedI think that's an exaggeration https://youtu.be/xXPSe57pOss?si=rKaCr-nre94XcWqa
>>129871483>>129868257yeah i know. i deal with this every time i'm about to release an album. this bout of uncertainty seems to be a lot stronger than previous times. you guys are right tho. i'm just gonna fuckin release it. i should be proud of it. i worked hard on it.
>>129863121youre just another narcissistic buffoon. and your album probably sucks otberwise you wouldnt be blogging on here for attention.
>>129871596idk why you'd get so mad about musicians discussing the music they make on a music board
