Tonight's listen:The Zombies - Zombie Heaven [Disc 1]This four-CD set contains everything the Zombies recorded in the 60's. Disc one features their debut album and all the singles they released prior to Odessey and Oracle, the most famous of which are "She's Not There" and "Tell Her No". The tastelets among us will be quick to write off the group's early work as standard British Invasion pop, but the Zombies were masters of their craft from the very beginning. These songs are consistently sharp and smart, with the best ones rivalling the material on O&O. Only a fool would lump these guys in with the Pacemakers and Hermits. Aside from a few obligatory, perfunctory covers, the only unequivocal filler cut among the CD's 31 tracks is the instrumental "Work 'n' Play". The whole box set is great, but I opted to review the first disc since the Zombies' early work is so underrated.9.3/10https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHvAahLYUew

>>129866507Unfortunately I'm not much of a jazzer, I mostly like guitar-centric hard bop (Grant Green, Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, etc.) and a little piano jazz (mainly Red Garland)But I could do some sort of jazz album from my collection
