Is unwound the quintessential zoomer band right now?

There’s something so Gen Z about them let alone their fanbase
>>
Sure, why the hell not? I mean in math sometimes 1=0 and that fucks up every number to the point where everything equals whatever you want it to be so who am I to say Unwound is NOT the quintessential zoomer band. Fuck it

they've definitely got a loyal internet zoomoid following thanks to RYM but i'd still say Deftones are quite ahead in terms of zoomercore popularity

They're into my bloody valentine and duster. Tiktok.

I have never met anyone who listens to unwound or any older post hardcore. Especially not zoomers.

Why haven't Numero Group pushed them?

I don't know anyone else who listens to Unwound. Also Geese are "the quintessential zoomer band" right now whether we hate it on this board or not. You can't claim a band from one generation is the quintessential of another

t. Zoomer

Archers Of Loaf, Polvo, and Drive Like Jehu/Hot Snakes are a billion times better than Unwound.
90s-early 00s noise rock/posthardcore/artpunk/indierock has a small fanbase.
OG /mu/core tastemaker posters, who went on to rym, were probably 50 people max.
50 people can miss a lot of great shit, especially when they grew up 20-30 years AFTER a scene died.
Pitchfork turned their backs on college radio/underground rock in 2003.
The top 100 90s albums from pf was 95% indierock in the 1999 list and its top 100 90s albums in 2003 was like 50% indierock.

No

I listened to then recently and their "best" album was a snoozefest compared to Repetition

Teenager of The Year is as good as any early Pixies album

I just meet zoomers who love unwound, nonstop. I thought unwound was a little indie but every kiddo I meet loves them. Also the last unwound show I went to, there were teenagers mosh pitting.

I’m not kidding I can’t stop meeting you my people who “I love unwound dude”. As a Seattle local who lives out of state I thought it was a bit of a WA state thing But every youngin loves them and happily name drops them for 90s music taste cred
>>
>>129867869
when people irl say they like "post-hardcore" they mean Attack Attack and maybe La Dispute
>>

Seriously, they might as well be "co-worker" music now
>>
If they're so popular how do they have so little streams
