NOTHING IS «AHEAD OF ITS TIME»; EVERYTHING IS OF ITS TIME.

Nothing in the track you posted sounds ''ahead of its time'', it sounds very 70s

The music video and the song is very much of its time, I don't understand.
I assume you were born during or after it?
>>129878096
Also this. I haven't heard a single song posted here that sounds genuinely ahead of its time.
Sure, maybe the sound they're going for wasn't accessible or mainstream for its time, however the production is.
I'm sorry if I sound like a redditfag or something, but everybody here should really listen to more music from these eras. You'll start to notice that it isn't so much that they were ahead of their time than it is that the newer artists were inspired by them.

YOU DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE UNDERSTOOD MY STATEMENT.

NOTHING IS «AHEAD OF ITS TIME», BECAUSE WHATEVER HAPPENS HAPPENS IN ITS TIME, THEREFORE, IT IS OF ITS TIME.

HOW DOES SOMETHING «SOUND AHEAD OF ITS TIME», ACCORDING TO YOU?
>>
>>129879566
By sounding like it was recorded more recently than it actually was
>>
>>129879616

THAT IS A POST HOC ASSIMILATION OF MUSIC FROM THE PAST TO CONTEMPORARY MUSIC THAT IMITATES, OR THAT EMULATES, THAT MUSIC.

Really? Similar sounding stuff didn't really start to pop up until the mid-late when stuff like extreme metal, brutal prog and the more intense side of math rock took off
>>

>brutal prog and the more intense side of math rock
What bands do you have in mind?
