>Cosplay a generic goth>Post over-produced covers of shitty songs >"Once in a lifetime talent" (legit comment)>React/vocalist channels glazing>12M views on one video and no follow up in 2 months despite being a single shot of a VOCAL COVER (perfect production and editing takes time I guess)Am I the only one underwhelmed by this? Like I'm sure she has talent, but it's so overwhelmingly layered, over-produced, with jarring pitch-correction, and watching it is like the same feel as Ichika on guitar - on the surface everything is "just right" but looks... uncanny, mimed, and like the sounds produced don't match the movement we're seeing. The soulless pursuit of perfection, even in a basic bitch youtube vocal cover, just feels empty, and the worst part is that everyone else is lapping up this slop.
She's ok I guess even though the whole thing feels kinda astroturfed. The biggest problem is that she covers the worst music that has been classified under "metal".
>>129880068God i hate her voice in glad I'm not the only one it seems like she's trying to sound like a male and it sounds weird.Although being a vocalist myself i wish i knew how to record this well and mix my vocals so professionally at home.About fake guitarists it's a plague not just itchika there's q channel exposing them
>>129880122>it seems like she's trying to sound like a maleWomen doing gutturals is kinda cringe.Power metal is corny but at least female vocalists play to their strengths in that genre.
>>129880090Astroturfed is the perfect word for it yeah, and I couldn't agree more. >>129880122Yeah Ichika is just the one that came to mind but you're spot on, it's a plague and it's a race to the bottom between them. I'm a guitarist and we saw this evolution kind of happening in real time, at first when I saw these kind of videos I just figured "I'm shit and just need to git gud" then I was like... Hold on this is the exact shit people were shitting on Rings of Saturn for a while back, Dragonforce back in the late 2000s/early 10s, at least those were outliers and in a kind of studio setting - now it's just mainstream accepted. Like I know studio magic has always been a thing, but recording something at like 50% speed and lining up your notes to a grid only to mime a video along to it like you're a guitar god is cringe at best. I'm sure the same sort of shenanigans is going on with Maphra. It's just too shiny and clinical.
>>129880122Take it as a blessing and turn it into your strength bro. The last thing metal needs in the modern world is super polished produced vocals, we have enough of that. The whole genre is fucking stale. Stand out by it not being a debate if your vocals are AI generated or not, something normal humans can actually resonate with
Almost definitely a plant
>>129880068getting notoriety on music isn't about the quality in itself. see also hyped shit like geese, shit midi or big thief
