>>129884969>CD Collecting GeneralI'm glad I was ahead of the curve on this. Got every album that matters to me on CD already.Ripped the music onto my local files, two drives, and now nobody can take my music away.
I don't want to name the exact things I'm buying because I rip them all and upload them to the internet. But I keep getting away with things. Just spotted a $60-100 disc I've been after that I would be willing to pay that much for at $20. It keeps happening.

>>129895562That's my neighbor's cat, I couldn't believe it either but it's true
>>129884969Going through old cds, some from 80s, some from my teenage years in 90s and I'm amazed at being able to rip and verify without error despite the shape some of them are in. Also very surprised at sound quality of cd player I picked up recently. I always sort of dismissed the difference dacs can make as mostly placebo. Listening to flac rip of cd i had in player through same receiver and speakers the player and the cheapo apple usb c dongle from pc there was a big difference in how individual instruments or sounds stood out more from the cd player.
>>129898414Even errors can't stop you in most cases. Get EAC set up properly and let it chew through the errors while you sleep.https://doujinstyle.com/eac/setup.html
>>129900061Protip, pick a favorite Japanese auction proxy site. Search for "rental CD" and start loading up on them. Be aware that even if they sell the CD for fucking 10 yen or whatever you still pay the proxy fees so don't go too crazy unless you're just buying junk lots of CDs. But if you're finding music you're actually interested in $3-5 per disc is not going to kill you. Leave EAC to do it's job overnight and you'll turn trash into treasure.
