Why do people hate Moby?I think he made some pretty good music, particularly his ambient albums.I also don't understand how he became the prime example of bad-looking bald guy. I think the look actually kinda works for him?Is it all because Eminem dissed him in '02 and people just ran with that?
>>129888111
>>129888111He just doesn't know when to shut up
>>129888135That shit was dope until he made that chest tat into 3D.
>>129888135Every time I run into his music I'm like "wow this is actually really good wtf" but then I am afraid to listen to it again because then I might become a huge fan of the faggiest fucking guy ever
>>129888111because he's vegan and supports gay people. chuds are retarded
>>129888164kekTrue courage is admitting to liking Moby.
>>129888164do you like this track?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srCCR1WT9KY
I love his stuff, despite everything. Basically he was well respected and "underground" until Play blew up, and then his general dorkiness and veganness annoyed everyone and became kind of a joke. He's actually pretty good about laughing along with it, which is refreshing.
Struggle to think of a track of his I didn't like, I know nothing about the man himself or his opinions. I heard "Thousand" for the first time yesterday and it blew my mind.
Moby's kino
>>129888111I like him but wtf was that Lola comment lmao also checked
>>129895045Lola comment? qrd?
>>129888111it is really weird musicgood for early 2000s tho
>>129888111his music isn't that great. It's basically electronic music for moms and he comes off as a passive-aggressive nice guy.
>>129888135>Vegan for the workers.
>>129888111Because of shit like thishttps://youtu.be/VASywEuqFd8?is=kgFEyHoGH-QDf93g
The closing credits song for Bourne Identity, Extreme Ways, is my favorite. It perfectly captures the turn of century vibe of Eurodance rave music/NIN industrial when that movie came out and because it's a quintessential euro film.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftm1hiXgYsA
electronic/club/dance whatever music is far from my thing but I gave his grunge album a listen and legit its actually pretty solid post grunge
>>129888111checked. just tell people moby’s music plays over the end of heat (1995) if you want to see someone admit he makes good music when they’ve been programmed to hate him. otherwise he’s an obnoxious rapiat dork
>>129895278It's good. He's a good artist.People just don't like him as a person.Billy Corgan, for example.
>>129888111he took selling out to a new level by licensing every song on play to film tv and commercials
>>129896909Good for him? Only the poor think it's cool to be poor.
>>129896922when your music is used to sell cars in the year of its release, you are a salesman not an artist
>>129896959>you are a salesman not an artistin capitalism there's no real separation between the two unless you give your music freely
>>129896991then moby should directly work for the car company and stop making albums for public consumption
>>129896909it's hilarious to me that you can get paid to advertise your music, which leads to more sales of your music.
>>129897044the label is taking away sales by associating you with ads. it’s a cash grab when you know you have less real fans and are just riding a promo campaign
>>129897062the fuck you talking about? People hear the song on an ad then go check out the full song. You won't hear the full version on an ad.
>>129896959>when your music is used to sell cars in the year of its releaseso a musician can only sell his music to little kids for the first year or two of release. then after that they can license it out. lolwho cares...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXKg0sNTKXE&t=1s
>>129897126you are a mindless consumer. you also don’t realize nobody did this in 1999, so instead someone put moby on and were embarrassed to discover you heard all the songs in terrible commercials
>>129897147literally what a manager would say when they turn an artist into a commodity. gen z are slaves and proud
>>129891901Bruh, we watch movies made by fucking Hollywood pedos. We can ignore a vegan
>>129897153he sold 10 million copies of that album.
>>129897170>when they turn an artist into a commoditythen dont sign a major label contract in the first place. the objective is to make money. moby has to wait until he is 60 or 70 then sell his catalog only for the new owners to license his music? again lol. im sure lots of pop musicians breaking into the music business would like to do what moby did. danny elfman did it later in his career and gave up releasing pop music entirely just to focus on tv & film
>>129897339>im sure lots of pop musicians breaking into the music business would like to do what moby did.this iswhat they do now, they’re all like that and that’s why music sucks because there are no artists. you’re too thick to grapple with how bad thos is for music and keep doubling down on talking points used by vipers who destroyed the industry
>>129888111he hit on Natalie Portman when she was fresh out of high school. oh but she was just fine with Luc Besson probably raping her.
>>129896909>>129896959Boards of Canada licensed their songs for fucking telecoms and BMW commercials and people still dickride themhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fd652KmLsE
>>129897465>they’re all like that and that’s why music suckslicensing current songs isnt what killed music. it should be easier than ever for a new musician to get noticed now anyway. music today is all shit because nobody can sing or play any instrument. all the singers are rappers and the songs are made by a team of swedes
>>129888111They're jealous of his fine electrocution.
>>129898441licensing didn’t, selling out at the beginning of your career did. it’s now the norm and has forced artists out of the business model, which is what labels want
>>129895180https://www.euronews.com/culture/2026/03/23/gross-and-transphobic-why-is-moby-taking-shots-at-lola-by-the-kinks
>>129888111he's 60 years old and not married. That basically tells you that he's insufferable.
That's when I realize it's over
>>129891761Why did Mobycucks ignore this track
>>129902217I liked it.t. mobycuck
>>129898666>selling out at the beginning of your career didi really dont understand when people accuse a singer of selling out. again, their job when they sign a record contract is to make money. for themselves and the record label
>>129896863his bourne identity theme that plays at the end of those movies was always extremely kino as well
