where do u get your flac from
I don't get flac, and if I did I certainly wouldn't tell you.
Bandcamp usually, you can tell me if I’m retarded I am prob, not deep enough into audiophilia yet
what.cd
tidal streams everything in flac
I either rip my CDs to 256 mp3 or get FLACs from Bandcamp or Soulseek, which I then convert to 256 mp3 for the cleanest possible encoding. Nobody needs FLAC quality

If you are really serious you should be on Redacted and Orpheus. But if you're not willing to get into private trackers I'll point you in the right direction and give you expert level knowledge.https://fmhy.net/audio#audio-ripping-sitesStart here. Sites that allow you to rip from streaming services like Tidal and Qobuz are essential for getting new music in FLAC.https://nicotine-plus.org/Soulseek is old reliable. If you are not on private trackers you will need it for CD rips. They won't be nicely sorted and organized like they are on private trackers but you can still do some verification of rips with logs and cue files without access to trackers.https://logs.musichoarders.xyz/This is a public log checking tool for CD rips. If it says your rip can't be trumped on OPS then consider it perfect.https://cue.tools/wiki/CUETools_DownloadIf the rip has no checksum therefore is "trumpable" as long as the person who did the rip chose all the right settings and it scores 100% anyway we can still do a verification with cuetools and know it's perfect. See pic related. I'll reply with another pic showing what it looks like when it actually verifies.
>>129889990Trumpable on private trackers, yet perfect! Worthy of going into your archive.>>129889803I use 128k opus for my phone. FLAC is for archiving on hard drives. Lossy is not archive worthy.
>>129889990Which is better out of Redacted and Orpheus?
>>129890098Redacted has the better catalog. Orpheus is way easier to survive on because of the bonus points/token system. I use RED for browsing and grab from OPS when it's available there. I also cross upload anything I get from RED that isn't on OPS to help people out.
>>129890133How many bonus points per hour do you get?
>>129890191About 100

>>129889990can u make a tutorial on how to verify a rip
>>129889228soulseek
>>129890001all it needs to show for all is accurately ripped
>>129892287I think Qobuz cracked down more lately so Tidal is the popular choice right now.>>129892321There's not much to it. Just select the cue file or log if that's all you have then hit verify. >>129892366Well you also want to be sure it matches other peoples rips from the same disc, if possible. I only bother with cuetools if the log doesn't have a checksum yet it still scores 100. Or in the odd case where the rip that's floating around seems to actually be damaged, cuetools can repair those.
>>129889228Rutracker and soulseek. I'm on all the old private trackers for movies/tv/etc, but I never joined a music one after what.cd died. Is RED recruiting? I have invite forums on BTN and I've never seen a RED thread there
>>129892756They were recruiting there until recently. I think Orpheus still recruits on BTN.https://interviewfor.red/en/index.htmlYou'll probably be happy enough with OPS if you can get in. It beats the shitty range rips done by ziggers on rutracker lmao.
>>129892798Is there any evidence that Russians can't use EAC or is this NATOid propaganda? Their rips appear to be fine
>>129892811They mostly do range rips which is retarded. On rare occasions you do see a Russian language EAC log that scores 100%. But the one I hinted at earlier that's fucked up and needed to be fixed by cuetools was done by a Russian:https://pastebin.com/raw/KZLBR202See: the issue with Track 8. But this one still scores 100% on private trackers lmao.
>>129892687wat am I looking for in log to kniw if it’s a good rip
>>129892976It's a lot of different settings that should be turned on or off. It's easier just to upload it to a log checker. Accuraterip confidence levels and ctdb id/confirmations can be useful but if the CD is genuinely rare there might not be much of that to go off of.
>>129893002wat confident level do u want it to be at
>>129893388im not that guy but you seem like a retard and fully unable to comprehend this info.or good b8 ionno
