For me, it’s Telecaster
>>
>>129894493
Did you know all electric guitars sound exactly the same?
>>
>>129894493

Nashville telecaster split the difference.
>>
>>129894493
Strat feels way better to play sitting or standing, Tele has the best sounds
>>
>>129894509
Not exactly, it depends on the type of pickups
>Single coil
>Humbucker
>P90
>High gain toaster (Rick)
>>
>>129894493
It's not a debate
Telecaster >

>no trem
>>
Jazzmasters mog all.
>>
Les Paul
>>
>>129894843
Why is it called a tremolo when it's for vibrato?
>>
>>129894493
It's not a debate
Whatever the Tele can do, the Strat can do better. In addition to being competent at every single genre under the sun.

I own multiple guitars and play several hours per day, and even I will admit that guitar collecting (for the sake of having varying degrees of 'toan') is pretty much bullshit.

I have a Fender Strat, an Epiphone Casino (Coupe) with P90s, and an acoustic. It feels borderline exorbitant. The only other guitars I would consider would be a 12-string (electric or acoustic) or a classical/nylon string guitar.

Teles are dope. But I'm one of few people on planet earth that seems to enjoy the bridge pickup on a Stratocaster. I get plenty of twang.
>>
They're basically the same thing, I sound, look and play great on either one
>>
>>129894493
Mustang is the best sounding one, judging by stock pickups
>>
>>129895002
how about 'stay in tune'
>>
>>129894509
>>129895528
nope. https://youtu.be/wkrrJe3cGYM?si=5E2gY2Y8sF2ZTzzR
notice how boomerish and hendrix-like the strat sounds? or how the jag/jm immediately sounds like indie rock/dinosaur jr? it matters.
>>
>>129895564

You just described various degrees of 'old people' music
>>
>>129895637
lol no. keep coping, I'm probably younger than you
>>
>>129895002
Strat doesnt have neck and bridge together + Tele bridge tone mogs
>>
>>129895564
String freshness, string type, string placement, and pickups. Those are the only things that matter.
>>
>>129895564
They sound almost exactly the same in that video. You CAN get unique sound sout of each but they share ranges.
>>
>>129895702
just listen to the jangle section, they sound radically different
>>
>>129895564
Gay Mascis (who sucks at guitar) recorded almost all of Dino Jr with a telecaster ha ha ha ha ha bing it
>>
>>129894493
...a superior guitar enters the chat
>>
>>129895752
you still hear the jazzmaster when he uses it. SY as well.
>>
there is a very common misconception that Strats are more 'rock' sounding than teles because guys like Jimi Hendrix. Strats are very wimpy sounding compared to Teles. Teles have a more neutral and rounded sound, Strats are trebly and clean compared to a tele
>>
>>129895836
Imagine if you spent the time you waste sparging about gear on practice.
>>
>>129895752
where is your music? post it
>>
>>129895813
>hollowbody meme guitars
>>
>>129895912
that's a semihollow
>>
>>129895933
>semi-hollow guitars are a type of hollow-body guitar.
>>
There's a lot more former 'strat guys' who prefer teles than vice versa. Teles are the better choice for most players and most situations. Strats are more gimmicky and more of a specialized tool where Teles are jack of all trade type guitars. Strats always sound like Strats, teles sound like 'electric guitars'
>>
>>129895680
Pickup placement too.
>>
for me, it's the partsmaster
>>
>>129894493
Tele for me too, but I wouldn't say no to a dark-ish blue Strat with a white perloid pickguard
>>
>fender, but made in Mexico
Would it be a deal breaker?
>>
>>129896547
yes
>>
>>129895912
>meme
explain this
do you mean you can't play?

the best strat I ever played was a MIM Roadworn (didn't buy because the cringe relicing) and the best Tele i ever played was a jap pink paisley (which i didn't buy because it looked gay af)
solidbody guitars are not something that require crafstmanship to be good
>>
>>129897441
>Roadworn (didn't buy because the cringe relicing)
this is the most laughable trend in music
imagine buying a new football jersey with faux grass stain, or a hockey sweater with fake blood on it
good grief it's unbearable

boom. next question

telecasters are cool, probably my favorite look for a guitar. it's odd how the stratocaster is so generic looking but sounds so unique and magical
>>
>>129896547
it would be a deal breaker if MIA was any symbol of quality nowadays
>>
>>129895662
they both have in-between positions, they're just different, so that's a wash. the bridge point is true. the strat neck pickup is a lot better than the tele, though. i think it comes down to which sound is your home base
