For older listeners, how do you manage with the fact that music doesn't stimulate you the same way it did when you were younger? I'm 30+ and almost all kind of music doesn't tingle me a single sensation. Only the most abstract, unpredictable and actual innovative music do something for me at this point.
>>129911468Speak for yourself retard, sounds like a (you) problem. Also weed tends to make all music sound better
>>129911482>dude weed lmao
>>129911468I started making abstract innovative music.
34. Music post 2016 sucks. Have about 300GB of music I collected for the past 20 years on my HD so I'm fine peaking on my plateau and just reliving the hits until I die. I don't think I'm missing much in the modern age.
>>129911468I just keep listening to it? What else is there to do? I used to get pins and needles all the time, I still do sometimes.
>>129911468This is what you get, for listening to shit like cRap, pOop, EnDM etc...
>>129911634Never listened to any of those, not even at 12.
I still enjoy it. Just not as much. I don't think it's down to just getting older. I'm a less emotionally intense person now too. That's fine. I experienced the highest highs and the most devastating lows. Now I'm just kinda in the middle most of the time and music doesn't resonate the same way because of it. But I have more appreciation for how it sounds now. Musicianship, production, etc.
>>129911468It does, just as much as ever. Also I probably listen a wider range of genres and sounds now that at any previous point in my life.
>>129911468can't relate, i'm old as dirt and still get excited by new music (whether new new or just "new to me"). i think it's really a mindset thing. and your list of requirements >abstract, unpredictable and actual innovativemakes me think you're a pseud who's trying too hard t b h. just let yourself enjoy the sounds, mang
>>129911468It stimulates me significantly more after my 30s. I'm more open to new things and have more life experience to appreciate things I didn't care for before. You may be broken, OP.

>>129911468Eh, dont need it like i used to. Would much rather learn an instrument these days. Honeymoon's over, now the work begins
>>129911468I only enjoy the sound of farts these days.
It honestly baffles me how can someone arrives at a certain age and not get tired of hearing the same instruments, the same sounds over and over, it's just a repetition of the same formulas you heard millions of time at that point.
