This song is so fucking goodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsJevVgiJwM
>>129937587I like him a lot. My mom is a fan so I grew up with his music. He's always seemed like a good guy. Made great pop music. Nothing more, nothing less. Guy had an ear for melody and he's made some timeless music. Big Dimes Neil will always be over with me.
I like Waylon Jennings' cover of Sweet Caroline a lot.

>>129941379>Listen to Hot August Night. If you like that album, you'll like Neil Diamond. For me it's Live at the Troubadour. I love the smaller intimate feel with a scrappy garage band sound and Neil going nuts on the vocals. It really helps you understand where the "Jewish Elvis" nickname comes from.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkmM3UJUKjM
Hot August Night [MCA, 1972]From the first guitar riff of this profit-taking double live showcase, it's obvious that the man is some sort of genius rock entertainer, but for the most part the great entertainer is striving for bad art and not even achieving it. The humor here is almost as sententious as the phony canta libre and the country-western parodies might get a poorer, drunker man lynched. D+

I worked for one of the big guitar companies. Neil sent a guitar in for repair... and I think he got a new one. I spent time on the phone with his tech who was very nice. A week or two later the people who worked on his guitar got autographed pixtures with thank you's. That is the one time I saw that in the near decade I worked there. I had custom wired 7 or 8 guitars for Cheryl Crow and the company did special things and gave guitars to famous people all the time. The only person I saw be greatful to the peons doing the work was Neil. It could have been management doing that, but even if it was it reflects back on the guy running his organization. So I gained respect for him there. Some of his songs are great and are classics. Yeah, I have appreciation for Neil.
>>129943088on the other hand Paul Simon is a known asshole according to everyone who has worked with him
>>129943314Yeah, Jackson Brown had ordered a guitar though the custom shop when I was there. He was a bit... let's say "picky" about things... fussing about things that were .0157 inches (0.4mm) off his specs.

>>129937587He's one of my dad's favourites and he's always played his music whilst working or relaxing and such. I used to think he was corny when I was kind of a music snobby teen but now I've grown up I like him because he reminds me of my dad.And this here is my dad's favourite.https://youtu.be/FKiemHPECZI?si=G0Cr91mhC9Uf8X_a
>>129943771>He is a domestic abuse specialistTo be fair it's not like Edie Brickell wasn't a dumb art ho slut anyway.
>>129945106Wait Paul Simon abused Edie Brickell? Now i like him.
The Last Waltz' Dry Your Eyes was the best song in the whole show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RurccWvJiS8
