>creates one kino song >sadly gets popular due to a movie scene of a tranny serial killer >stops making songs because music production companies didn't find her image attractive and refused to hire her >end up as a bus driver in staten island >dieshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_DVS_303kQthis really fucking sucks
>>129938614last year, a compilation of i believe all of Q lazzarus' work before she stopped making music was releasedit's not amazing, but it's worth listening to
>>129938614Funnily enough I never saw that movie and only knew the song from GTA IV for a long time.
>>129938614it's weird how people think this song is creepy just because of how it was used in the movie. It's a fire track, truly bizarre to me how people can hold that association and not hear it
>>129939230>the song has a slight cringe-inducing quality because of its naïveté>people associate this feeling of innocence and amateurism to tranny serial killerssad
>>129938614Sad storyThough she didn't write the song, she only performed it.The guy who wrote it also died broke, afaik
>>129939230>truly bizarre to me how people can hold that association and not hear itIt's the same as anything, take some innocent song and put it in some dark themed movie and it becomes creepy to normies.
>>129938614one of my favorite songs from the 80s/90s, simply beautiful
>>129938655A lot of quality tunes in here. Really surprising how she could seamlessly go from hard rock to diva house.
I MUST DISAGREE OH NO SIR
>>129938614>>stops making songs because music production companies didn't find her image attractive and refused to hire herWhy is that? Tracy Chapman was very popular around that time even though she wasn't exactly the most beautiful woman alive...
Lots of black female artist that look like her have been successful so I don't buy the image excuse. She probably just didn't have any good songs and that's why she didn't have a career or get signed.
>>129938614what do you mean sadly? nobody would know it if Jonathan Demme wasn't a music obsessive and didn't listen to every random tape that came into his hands
>>129938614It flopped because it was too ahead of it's time, it sounds more like a 1990s Alt-Rock anthem sung by guy, the 80s were not ready for a kween that sings like an alt-rocker, until Tracy Chapman appeared.
>>129939116based, im the same. i just think of going really fast through broker to it.
>>129938614For years I thought it was a guy singing this
