Kind of indifferent about the finish but it was quite a bit cheaper than the same guitar in other finishes so whatever. Thin skin nitro so maybe I’ll just easily strip it off and hit it was rattlecan black or white

Im using an ns-2 and it tames like 80% of the screech when i dime it. I tried to see if putting in headphones helped and it still screeches
>>

that thread is over bud.
>>
>>129945376
it may really be the amp
>>
>>129945480
Maybe, for now ill just use it on a less meme setting and play around with it on other friends setups. Still sounds nice. I am curious about one thing though. A lot of iconic sounds are a combination of certain pickups, pedals and amps. Do people ever use a tone preset for a specific amp like a 5150 on their katana and run a pedal into that preset vs just running the pedal into the katana's clean channel? Forgive the dumbass questions, I'm super new and I spent the past few months actually playing the instrument instead of fucking around with pedals and amp settings.

Is there a name for this style of guitar playing where you play simple chords only using the thinnest 3 strings?

songs that come to mind:
>Chastity Belt - Seattle Party
>The Strokes - Someday, You Only Live Once (mostly)
>Mac deMarco - Cooking up something good

I ended up getting a sterling music man. Going to try this out at home and see how i like it. I hate the feeling of round wounds but I had fun playing this in the store plus it matches my strap. I also played a Rickenbacker in the store. That fret buzz thing the guy told me about at the other store just isn't true. It was definitely just an adjustment issue.
>>
>>129945774
but it sounds like the music i want to play and hides how shitty i am. im practicing some riffs off the slaughter of the soul album

is that a weed bowl in your center console? just wait til you get to your destination, they'll throw your ass in jail for DUI even if it's just weed
>>
>>129945872
that is 100% a bowl. keen eye anon

>>129945840
that anons right, you need a cart for when you're out so it doesnt smell like youre smoking in your car
>>
>>129945872
>>129945904
I have a very good suburban code switching accent. Even though my car smells like weed I have never been searched or got a ticket after being pulled over. Also I usually put it away in the center console thing. I forgot to lol
>>
>>129945272
>strip nitro and refinish
please dont
>>
>>129945934
its 2026 theres no excuse to get a dui for weed anymore. use a cart when youre out and leave the actual bud in the trunk until you get where youre going. carts kinda suck, but theyre good enough in a pinch. i prefer joints and dry herb vapes myself

Likely to go shopping for a new guitar in Japan soon. Any recommendations on 8/9 strings with floating bridges that don't break the bank? I'd love an Explorer or V style but not enormously picky on shape as long as it fits my body well, it'll be used for metal.
Will also be looking at basses but might be hard to get it home.

I need to bring it back tomorrow and have the action adjustment. Hopefully it's free but I cant get a sound of the first fret. When I played this earlier I forgot to play along the whole fret. I was in the upper range the whole time.

>>
>>129946865
Fender doesn’t make this specific model Strat in black and that’s what I really want and I’ve got tons of high temp grill paint from painting old surplus muzzle devices and blank fire devices so I’m just gonna strip it and paint it black with that
>>129947640
Are you like for real pressing on the actual fret like for real ON the fret

I start with the open on each string then go to the first fret. Literally just placing my finger not even trying to put pressure.
>>
im glad i started playing a few months ago this has been very fun :)
>>
>>129947787
Needs more relief, should have been caught at the shop
>>
>>129947823
if that’s the case the relief should be horrendously bad for it to cause the complete fretting out but it’s possible. maybe you have a massive temperature different from the store
>>
>>129947787
Might need some truss rod tweaking, might need saddle tweaking, might need nut slot tweaking/new nut, not to be condescending but are you sure you’re pressing hard enough? Pressing lightly causes buzz and the first few frets are usually a little tougher to press hard. I’m assuming you are because you’ve been playing and taking lessons and everything but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Is it buzzing at the actual fret you’re playing or is it buzzing farther up the neck on a different fret?
>>
>>129947823
>>129947874
I think it needs some sort of adjustment. I played a red one of the same brand and that one I did play at the first few frets. That sounded fine so I just took this one instead when I saw it on my last scan and played it for probably 30 seconds.

>>129947921
Nah I tried all kinds of pressure. If i put the normal pressure i use while playing my p bass, no sound comes at all. I'm guessing it may have just needed an adjustment and I didn't notice since I didn't play for long.
>>
>>129948002
just loosen the truss rod a half turn, lefty loose, counter clockwise and see what it does. they’re really easy to adjust on MM
>>
I'm a liberal California indie rocker who fell on hard times due to Trump's economy, forcing me to take a job as a police man to make ends meet. Until recently, the only "thin blue line" i cared about was the racing stripe on my CIJ mustang. A few months ago, the only black thing I stomped was my Proco Rat pedal. I admit I'm still learning the ropes and coming to terms with being "the fuzz" instead of rocking out with it. Sure, I'm a fish out of water, I'm learning the ropes... but maybe I can change the system from the inside out.
>>
>>129948006
https://voca.ro/11AImsL7H8Yo
So adjusted the truss rod but I'm still getting the buzzing. This is after the truss rod adjustment using my normal pressure. After I played the MM I played my P bass using the same pressure and even played sloppy but still didn't get that buzzing that the MM has.
>>
>>129947683
>specific model Strat
what's specific about it? looks like a bogstandard SSS to me
>>
>>129948248
AV65, I wanted the ‘65 profile neck and the ‘65 voiced pickups
>>
>>129948242
well you said it wasn’t moving at all earlier is that an improvement? make sure it’s in tune then fret the first fret and the 17th fret at the same time and see if the string is touching the frets in the middle of the neck
>>
>>129948273
shit, I'd trade you a stripped down black strat body for your burgundy one
>>
>>129948279
Yes it is an improvement but honestly I'm worried if I loosen it too much something will break in the bass
>>
>>129948326
are the strings touching? one more half turn won’t do anything those have two way truss rods. they have about 2.5 turns of movement in either direction
>>
I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of slot head, v neck, 12 fret parlor guitars worth a fuck under 8k, but I guess I know what I'm stuck with for now
>>
>>129948639
you can have Martin make one of those
>>
The guy I take classes from is such a joyless cunt, guess being a super shredder who never made it makes you jaded. Making great progress with him nonetheless
>>
>>129948402
Are you asking if the strings are touching fretboard? Then no. I tried it with the truss rod turned both ways and even in the middle but still got it. I'm guessing GC can fix it for me.
>>
>>129948648
>under 8k
I considered it, but bourgeois makes the thing I actually want for that price. Prolly going with yairi.
>>
>>129945376

what did you use? I usually use audacity, I don't remember if I processed that since it was just a lazy phone recording but normally I'd amplify, normalize, compress, and reverb just with the presets for acoustic guitar I used to try noise removal too but that always makes it sound crazy unnatural

I met Kim Mitchell once in a dive bar in Dundas Ontario. I was the lead guitarist in the opening band. So anyway, we finished our set but I had to piss real bad because I'm about 8 beer deep. I ran to the bathroom but Kim Mitchell was already there. I did my business and nodded to Mitchell and said to him "good set last night"...and I shit you not, Kim Mitchell turns to me from the urinal with cock in hand still pissing all over the floor and says "thanks man".
