Tonight's listen:Various artists - One String Blues MastersExactly what it says on the cover. When that one anon says "Led Zeppelin owed everything to ol' Jigaboo Jackson who tied a string to a board in 1915", this is what he's talking about. Granted, these performances date from between 1955 and '88, but it's nevertheless fascinating to hear what mileage these bluesmen could get from this simplest of instruments. Most of these performances are live or field recordings, further amplifying their primitive and raw sound. Willie Joe Duncan's "Unitar Rock" backed with "Cherokee Dance" has to be one of the most bizarre singles of the entire 1950's. Otherwise it's pretty straight Delta blues saved from utter monotony by the uniqueness of each player's approach. Not an album I come back to regularly, but a fascinating historical document. Just wish there were some liner notes to go along with the recording information. 7.1/10https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQlAYfUtzh4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LB58gPpmRgY

Can you do Fleetwood Mac's early years ? Like Kiln House or Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac self titled albumIt's a very beautiful blues album
>>129965374I was a punk rocker and have never gotten over hating on Fleetwood. However, I love Christine Perfect's solo album before Fleetwood. What a sexy singer.
>>129965374I only own a compilation of the Peter Green years and no later incarnations of Mac, but I'll consider it>>129965496Maybe I'll do something on the Blue Horizon label
