>be me>play guitar, bass, know how to program drums, use synths and samplers, etc.>know basic mixing and production on top of that>throw together two cover songs>everything is recorded and roughly mixed to the point of being decent to listen to>need a singer>find one who sends me some really nice demo takes, then keeps flaking for half a year after I give him some pointers because he tends to rush>find another one who sends me some pretty good demo takes, then goes silent for months after I pointed out some parts where he either fucked up the pitch or slept on parts of the vocal melody entirely>find yet another one who can sing clean and guttural, works with criticism, gives me a heads-up for when exams take up his time, but his mic quality is absolute trashI fucking hate working with other musicians so goddamn much, it's unreal. One half can't get themselves to sit down and work when it's time to record and only want to deal with the "yeah bro creativity bro free spirits bro we'll make it bro" part of making music, and the other one is too far up their own asses about their work to deal with criticism or doing things differently than they envisioned.
>>129965066That's always been the case. It's why all these bands constantly argued and eventually broke up.If you want something done do it yourself. You should try singing. Sure maybe you wont be fucking celine dion but if you can hold a note and stay in key you will sound good.
>>129965381It's different when after 10+ years of working alone, the same shit just keeps happening. I would do the singing myself for these songs, but both songs require a tenor, and I'm a baritone that can dip into the bass register. I get compliments for my singing, but that's all stuff like Rammstein and Type 0 Negative.
