>a-anon, why do you hate rap music?
>"music"
I like the Memphis stuff. I'm sure you know Three 6 Mafia.
>>129983891It's CIA like modern art.
>>129983891This album is a masterpiecehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg0RA0yWmjg
>>129983891anybody who thinks that sampling and hip hop production isn't a creative endeavor just shouldn't talk about art. Not being to your taste is of course fine but people who think it's talentless or sampling is stealing are just ignorant as hell
>>129983891Classical is the only kind of music tht allows me to relax. Every other type demands Engagement and attention. This is especially true for rap. My goal in life is to sleep as much as I can and keep my waking hours as sleep-like as possible

>>129984231depends how it's being done of course, and it requires the listener to be interested in art for ideas/concepts more than motor skills, like doing guitar solos or whatever. Unless your on some araabmusik shit it's usually not much of a motor skill and even that shit is gay.but yeah, if you remove the motor skills "requirement" some people have, taking different bits of source material and re-arranging it or recontextualizing it takes vision, the same way someone would using 12 TET. It depends how creative the artist is, if they're a creative person making creative decisions with samples than I don't know how that could be any less of an art form than somebody making creative decisions with anything else. A lot of Dadaism or conceptual or pop art is all about recontextualizing stuff. It's all just arranging things no matter the source.Another cool aspect of it is how self-referential it is. If you trace the trajectory of influence that led to hip hop through it's samples, often sampling old funk and soul records, the same way 70s rock worked off of 50s rock n roll, the same way 90s indie worked off 70s/80s rock. Taking the samples directly as sort of an homage to where it came from is interesting imo. It's also born from a lack of resources, this is what these people had to work with and they managed to pull something creative out of it.If hip hop sampling production isn't art, then any sort of plunderphonics or vaporwave can't be either
>>129983891listen, bitch, either show me your ass hole or don't interact with me
