What a masterpiece. Dream Theater's run from 1992 to 2007 is colossal.
>>129984312The thought of stirring overLeaves me paralyzedTear it out againAnother noodle got awayI spork And render noodles helplessI give inTo the plastic or the steel...
>>129984312Their run from 1992 to 1995 was. After that the magic basically disappeared.
>>129984427The small details on this cover are quite interesting
>>129984324>>129984446DM is normie ass prog metal you idiot. What spork about it?
>>129984624>DT*
>>129984427Disagree, except Falling into Infinity all the music they produced in that time lapse is great and memorable. Petrucci was the goat guitarist too. They started being shit from 2009 and forward.
theater kid metal
>>129984312Based Dream Theater chad.https://youtu.be/i9qZ4Tntg8I?is=K0ZQZYb5bfOo2tcA
>>129984312bait used to be believable baka
>>129984312this was their best album by far imo
For me it's Systematic Chaos.https://youtu.be/M-ZSLUdceX8?is=jBv0ORsTsAM7yTnL
>>129984312>including Systematic ChaosIt is the most soulless, forgettable, paint-by-numbers album I can imagine. Not only isn't there a good song, there's not even one enjoyable or interesting musical idea. If it came out in the middle of the run, then fine. but you used it as an endpoint, implying it's good.
>>129989523Nah, you just have shit taste, SC mogs everything they did after without contest. The Dark Eternal Night, Constant Motion, Repentance and In the Presence of the Enemies are amongst the best tracks they composed in the 2000s. It's the last moment they still had it together and created and album that was both technically impressive but also on point in terms of musicality and production wise. 2007-08 was also the last moment in history before metal became just a marketing corporate thing, the whole genre went to garbage after, not only them.
Not music.
>>129984312DT after Moore left is soulless
>>129984427This but I'd also include When Dream and Day Unite. Once Kevin Moore left they lost their soul. Jordan Ruddess is a great keyboard player but is nowhere near as memorable in any way.
>>129990191Have you listened to A Dramatic Turn Of Events? "Bridges in the Sky" and "Breaking All Illusions," despite being essentially the same song, both deserved to be mentioned when talking about greatest DT songs of all time. And again, Systematic Chaos just blows.
I like Dream Theater, they can play well.
>>129990417Partially agree. Early Rudess is ok. I guess Portnoy was keeping him in check because after he left his parts turned into "look at fast I can play scales" and his sound design devolved into 90s MIDI rompler shit.
>>129984763>They started being shit from 2009 and forward.Does this imply that Portnoy was the secret sauce?
