Duke's original side A was supposed to be a Supper's Ready-styled epic, but was broken up because the band didn't want to draw comparisons. Phil and Tony hated being called prog, hell, Apocalypse in 9/8 was written by Tony to make fun of ELP, but there's no denying that they continued doing prog well into the '90s.

IQ's released a great album 26 years after debut, and their best came out 5 years after that. I'm not a big Resistance or Dominion fan, but many are. Most fans would probably take their 25-40 year output over their 0-15 year output.Many would argue Big Big Train didn't get good until 20 years after their debut.I'll always bring up Mike Oldfield for creating his greatest piece of art 44 years after debut (admittedly a one-off after a long stretch of mediocrity).These are weak arguments for a distant second, but I really don't care for VDGG's 21st century output.
