It's not that bad, right?
>>129992834I don't mind the songs Frantic and St Anger
it really isn't. time has been very kind to street anger
invisible kid, did a skid
>>129992834It's a great lifting album if you're into that kinda thing>SHOOT ME AGAIN I AINT DEAD YET
say what you want, but Some Kind Of Monster is one of the best rockumentaries ever made
>>129992834one of the highest forms of cringekino
It's not, in that it's at least an interesting experiment this far removed from its original context. That said, I can see why this would be the last thing anyone would want out of Metallica back in 2003.
>>129993033Never listened to this album all the way through when I was a kid but this song really hits
MY LIFE STYLE DETERMINES MY DEATH STYLE
>KEEEEEEEEEP SEARCHINNNNNNN>KeEP oNnN SEARCHINnnnnnnnIIANNNNNNNNN
>>129993869it's so shallow it wraps back around to being profound. it's unironically true. your vices will kill you.
>>129993433I was a big metallica fan in 03 although I was like 12 years old, and it seemed like most fans were pretty much already over them from load/reload, so st anger was kinda the final nail for a lot of people. Like I said I was 12 so this was all gathered from forums.but yeah I agree, it was an interesting experiment and I think it's a bit underrated personally. Metallica is like the most normie of the metal bands so of course they're not gonna be down with some weird mixing. The snare sounds cool imo, but I get why it's hated so much just cuz of who their fans are. I do also rate it under anything they'd done up to that point pretty much so I can't blame it all on the mixing
It's unironically memorable and has charmMuch better than shit like Load and Reload
>I’m mildly in anger with you
This was probably less disappointing than the black album.
>>129992834It's definitely better than Reload. Maybe even 72 Seasons.
That was my first Metallica album when I was like 10. No wonder I never cared about them after.
It's because the inspiration they had was kinda bad itself, plus the situation they were in at the time, the band was on life support, in fact it was on the verge of dying, James got mindbroken for good with rehab and so on.And yet it was the last album where they actually tried to go on with something new, they did it with the black album taking inspiration from all the hard rock at the time like guns n roses, soundgarden and even motley crue, then they used alternative rock with alice in chains, soundgarden again and corrosion of conformity for load, the last time they did it with st anger, they had new metal, deftones, korn, soad, slipknot and so on...Then from the late 2000s onward when the world and the whole system and industry changed, they started like covering themselves or something.

>>129993253The only thing that could’ve elevated it would’ve been if the album was a masterpiece, but I guess since it being a dud has its own humorous merit
>MY LIFESTYLE>clang clang clang clang>DETERMINES MY DEATHSTYLEIt was shit on a level that selling out to MTV and radio rock with the hack album or childishly snubbing the new bassist they willingly hired on ...And Justice could barely hold a candle to.
Its so bad its good
Why would you call your album Street Anger? Is it about road rage? Do these people even drive their own cars anymore? Please respond.
>>129992834fun fact: if metallica was a goth band sanitarium would be called "crematorium".

on youtube there used to be a painstakingly re-recorded cover version of the entire album with better production by some soundalikes, what stood out was that there was just no salvaging the lyrics. the reason for their awfulness becomes clear on watching the documentary.
>>129998627Not even
>>129992834it was mostly shit but it's the last metallica album that had a semblance of a SOVL.

are there any appreciators of Hero of the Day here?
