what percentage of song were actually written by popstars because every one of them seem to be in the credits

According to /mu/
>If the song is good and people like it = it was the producers that wrote it
>If the song is garbage and the lyrics are cringe (like Taylor's latest album) = it was all them

0%. They MAYBE help with a lyrical line here and there but even then the whole song is conceived, from start to end, by men who understand extremely complex music theory.

The reason why they are even credited at all is because Rihanna changed the game. She smartly realized publishing is where the money actually is so basically put it in her contract to have her credited as a songwriter even if she contributed nothing. So now it's become industry standard for pop whores to get credited as "songwriters" even if the most they contribute is a line from their journal that guys turn into a fully fleshed out song.

Damon Albarn went against script by revealing that Taylor Swift doesn't write her own music and probably got "the call" telling him he needs to apologize. They all know they don't write their own music, it's an open secret, but they need to keep up the charade because it "empowers women" and gives them "artistic legitimacy."

I work in the music production
it depends on the artist but even the ones without many co writers like Taylor Swift, chappell roan and Olivia Rodrigo, bulk of the actual music is made by producers and sound engineers.
they might write some parts of the lyrics and the melody on their guitar, but the arrangements, strings, beats, drums, etc. are done by others
most of them really have no clue other than "that sounds good"

Pop stars are basically PR people for their own brand. Everything is cooked up by corporate to a scientific degree of precision. Everything you get (music, lyrics, choreography…etc) was all designed by professionals trying to maximize market capture. The pop star herself is basically just there to look good, go through the motions of the material, and not screw up interactions with the public.

The brands are potential billion dollar products they are not left to the whims of random 20-something girls.
