Traditional rock relies on guitar, bass, drums, vocals so pretty much every song sounds the exact same sonically. Take Angine de Poitrine or Geese for example. Listen to their music and you would not be able that they're bands from the 2020s. You'd think, wow, that 60s song sounds good, but at the same time it could be from the 70s or 80s or 90s. Rock has no sound design.But Skrillex is able to use all of that energy from these rock songs with his limitless electronic sound design.That means the drops hit harder than riffs, the textures are wilder than distortion pedals, and the intensity can go beyond what live instruments usually achieve. To claim that rock music is better than Skrillex would be delusional.
