Thinking about selling my cassette and vinyl collection in order to buy more CDs. I didn't care about CDs at all a few years ago but now I think I realize they're the superior format.

>cassettes
lol
>>
>>130030865
Yeah they're pretty shit but some of the stuff I bought for $16 is now going for $60+
>>
>>130030876
dang, time to make some money
>>
>>130030865
Buying prerecorded Type I tapes is dumb, recording your own vinyl rips on Type II or IV tape with Dolby NR sounds amazing
>>
>I MUST CONSOOOOOOOM

>>130031543
yes, we all consoom
you, me, everyone

>>130031543
Buying secondhand shit isn't what most people think of when they think of consumption
>>
>>130030857
Go ahead and do it. It's not like you have any good music in the collection anyway.

holy projection

If youre gonna sell your stuff at least keep the ones that mean that absolute most to you. Also get into buying used CDs, you can find absolute gems for next to nothing
>>
>>130031543
these degenerates cant help themselves. its a sign of super low IQ.

>at least keep the ones that mean that absolute most to you.
I'm gonna keep a few but most of this shit can go, I've got a few things I've never even listened to but are going for like $80 on discogs.
>>130034019
>get into buying used CDs
I exclusively buy from my local record shop which only carries used stuff.

Get a life. Go to the gym. Hit the shower. Find someone to love you so you won't always be an absolutely miserable retarded piece of shit.

The man enjoys the superior, crisp sound of CDs.
>>
>>130034208
you can do all those things without being a vain CONSOOMER slave, dumb faggot
>>
>>130030857
They are the superior format but how you enjoy them matters too. Vinyl fags are often really into the gear and I see how that can be fun. Me too I have an appreciation for hardware especially vintage but I was a kid when CDs were the new thing and I have nostalgia I get for that age of lasers. I also have an appreciation for cassettes, eventually I will repair my dad's old deck and restore it (got the rubber bands just looking for a tape b cover plate for this model) and will probably fuck around with it a bit but I drew my line at CDs and won't buy recess and cassettes on top of that.

There are some places online that sell 48k and 96k FLACs as well, but they are mostly classical and jazz. If you can't find a better option, 44.1khz 16-bit stereo is the way to go.

I've never encountered someone with this outlook that wasn't poor.

>Thinking about selling my cassette and vinyl collection in order to buy more CDs
People did this in the early 90s and ended up selling records that are worth more than the entire CD collection they ended up building.

Trend chasing is so gay man. Just do things you like. Vinyl has been ruined for years because of it and now CDs will likely have the same fate.
>>
>>130041304
hot take: trend chasing is something normal to do. we are social creatures
>Just do things you like
yes, thats why people follow trends, because they think they might like it
>>
>>130036866
Consuming rope doesn’t really make sense. Unless you’re telling him to eat rope
>>
I have some CAN CDs and LPs that I got signed by the keyboardist, Irmin Schmidt sometime ago. Are they worth anything? Lol
>>
>>130041304
Nah, they're not enough of an in your face object to go the way of vinyl unless vinyl purchases suddenly fell of a cliff again.
>>
>>130044567
most signed stuff tends to sell a bit higher, so yes
HOWEVER, if you get the sign of ALL members of the band, thats a whole different story
>>
>>130044632
Too bad about Damo Suzuki being 6 feet under
>>
>>130030857
cds are the superior format
vinyl is only debatable if you think having a gay ritual is really worth the massive inconvenience and increased cost
cassettes are cute but really are just worse than cds in every way making them just a fad
cds are the most practical and sensible way to build a physical collection
