Comparing a bunch of dudes who have done nothing but listen to music digitally and whine on twitter to a guy who was in bands, had an indie record deal, worked for radio stations, threw parties and disc jokey'd, was part of a legitimate music publication that sent its journos out to shows back when it was still independent enough to trash artists in public, did actual research that involved tracking people down and unearthing pieces of media...etc makes it clear as day. And if this sounds like i'm ''glazing'' the guy, you have to realize that he's not that special in the grander scheme of things ; there were thousands of people like him from his generation. Any of random indie scene alumni that get interviewed on Vish's Kreative Kontrol podcast have 1000x more of a clue about music than any of these tryhard ''video essayists'' who a) have never even read a single book about the subject, and b) have never even watched an actual video essay that predated the youtube age (like an F for Fake, for example).
