What did we think of it?

Stupid band name. Shit album cover. Not listening.
>>
>>130044220
It's fun, good driving music
>>
>>130044220
Top 3 QOTSA albums and the best thing Dave Grohl has been involved with.
>>
>>130044799
correct
>>130044249
retard

It was a breath of fresh air when it came out. I saw them live about a year after it came out after they had been touring for a while and was really into it. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Hadn't listened to it for years, but put it on again recently and I still think it holds up.
>>
>>130044220
complete waste of john paul jones
>>
a special gem. I hope their schedules all become free and they make another album. though it wont be anything close top the sound on this record sadly.
>>
Good album, but should have been someone other than Josh singing. It sounds too much like a QOTSA album
>>
>>130044220
great album
>>
>>130045198
yeah but so was Zep.

JPJ is the man. Imagine what Led Zeppelin II would have been without those stone cold bass lines.

No that would be Killing Joke (2003)
>>
>>130045198
Literally how? That album is filled with ridiculously good basslines.
>>
>>130046331
>how?
poor songwriting.
>That album is filled with ridiculously good basslines.
no it's not
>>
>>130044220
a big fat fucking meh
>>
John Paul Jones being amazing as usual, Homme playing literally some of his best riffs in his career somehow, and Grohl not sounding mediocre for once?
>>
>>130044249
you're the one missing out why should we care most of us have loved this for 15 years
>>
>>130047705
>poor songwriting.
meme opinion

for any of those that love TCV listen to John Paul Jones solo album Zooma, I checked it out recently and a lot of it is hard af, a lot of the energy actually matches TCV

>>130045388
Zep used him well
>>
>>130047705
the albums bass is pretty universally praised

Great album. Pissed off that their best song isn't in it and has no studio version (Hwy1)
>>
>>130044220
>muh ironically racist band name
>>
Why wasn't this just a QOTSA album?
Not like that band had a consistent lineup before Like Clockwork
>>
>>130044220
A lot of stupid shit for the most time with a couple of gems
>>
>>130045653
Putting a professional bassist to play with drummers whose only virtue is that they can hit their cans extremely hard? How is it not a waste of time?
>>
>>130048717
I don't think it was their best song, but it was a great sign of things to come. It got everybody hyped for a follow up album.
As much as I loved this album, both Foo Fighters and Queens went on to make my favourite albums from both bands afterwards.
Would have been cool with a followup after that though. Dave still kills it on drums, Homme is looking and singing great on their catacombs tour (even after he had cancer or whatever his health trouble was), but John Paul Jones is too old now
>>
Great album i wish they made a second one
>>
great college album.
>>
I remember serving coffee to the leading drum professor from my old university while playing Bandoliers over the shop's Bluetooth speaker. He was impressed.
Scumbag Blues is probably my most revisited track. Too groovy, man.

>>130045295
>>130048768
I mostly agree, to the point where I'll muddle up songs from this and Like Clockwork.
I struggle to picture Josh being a project leader without also doing lead vocals.

>sounds too much like a QOTSA album
Not such a bad thing, is it?
>>
>>130050942
What you say reminds me a little of the side project the lead singer from Biffy Clyro did. He didn't play guitar parts because he said it instantly made it sound like Biffy instead of what they were doing.
But Josh was pretty big behind the scenes for Eagles of Death Metal. Maybe not the leader, but yeah, I do hear a lot of spillover from this album to Like Clockwork. The album covers are even rather similar. That's not bad for me though, I love both albums.

>>
>>130044220
